Lawrence R. Jones is the author of Point C. He previously served as a Superior Court Judge in New Jersey (U.S.A) until retiring from the Bench in 2017.  During his years of service in the Judiciary, Judge Jones authored over 60 opinions on novel issues of law.  He also served as the President of the New Jersey Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and as a  presenting faculty member of New Jersey’s Judicial College for seven consecutive years.

Prior to appointment to the Judiciary, Jones served  on both the New Jersey Council of Developmental Disabilities and the Governor’s Adults with Autism Task Force.  On the latter committee, he served as Chairperson of the subcommittee on legal issues. He also served as Chairperson  of the Editorial Board of New Jersey Lawyer magazine, the official publication of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Following  his retirement in 2017, the New Jersey Law Journal named Jones as a Distinguished Leader of the New Jersey Bar.  In December, 2017,  Jones was appointed by New Jersey Governor-elect Phil Murphy to serve on the Gubernatorial Transition Team, focusing on issues of law and justice. Jones frequently presents as an educator and lecturer on legal issues, and recently authored the 10-part “Settlement Series” which was published in the New Jersey Law Journal in October-December 2017. He  resides in Toms River, New Jersey  with his family, and practices mediation and arbitration of  family court issues and other legal matters.
